About Us
Strategic Energy specialises in the development of programmes that assist client organisations to meet their long-term objectives in the areas of energy efficiency, sustainability, development of clean air programmes and demand side management.
This includes identifying technical options and issues, target markets, analysing/evaluating options on a financial and non-financial basis and recommending courses of action, including detailed implementation plans.
We can also help clients to work through the process of understanding what they should be doing in these areas and clarifying the reasons why they should be doing it.
Our point of difference is to start with a strategic approach to the objectives and to then provide the relevant mix of technical and non-technical skills to deliver on the agreed objectives.
We offer a combination of technical knowledge with a range of other skills relevant to effective programme design including:
- Finance
- Administration
- Information technology
- Project management
- Procurement
- Marketing and promotion
- Reporting to management and Governance Boards
We have a commitment to the efficient use of energy and other resources and a belief that this is not only good for the environment, but is also good business practice.
We are based in Christchurch with clients throughout New Zealand and in Australia.

- Design of demand side management programmes incorporating components such as home insulation upgrades, commercial energy audits, demand response initiatives and energy education
- Design of “Clean Heat” type projects that offer a package of clean and efficient replacement home heating options coupled with home energy efficiency measures
- Design of “Warm Homes” type projects that offer a subsidised package of home energy efficiency measures to households.
